Television It's been
estimated that over 90% of all living species and 99.9% of all individual
organisms are smaller than a dime. Our mission is to bring this dominant,
yet largely unseen living world to the attention of audiences through
compelling video images. We work with producers of nature and science
television programming to develop captivating sequences at the macro-
and micro- levels. Recent projects such as the PBS series, Intimate
Strangers, two Discovery Channel Productions, and two CBC Nature
of Things episodes have involved subjects from bacteria and archaea
to dust mites and forest canopy insects. Our tools include: advanced
microscopy techniques; specialized lighting; motion control; and, digital
recording for highest quality images. Productions and Co-productions: We have written and produced many projects for other producer/distributors including a five video series "Science in Action" for the Holt Rhinehart and Winston, Modern Biology Program. In 1994 we designed and produced a laserdisc program on Cell Biology for the college text Invitation to Biology, by Curtis and Barnes, Worth Publishers. Through the 1980s we designed and produced three major science series for Coronet Films (The Biological Science, Atmospheric Science, and Cell Biology). We continue to be interested in forming relationships with museums, publishers and distributors of biology education programming, as writer/designers, consulting biologists, and producers of specialized footage.
